It's been a busy-sleepless last week with Jack getting bronchial pneumonia and a double ear infection. It probably started last week but Mr. Happy Jack who never complained and slept through the night the whole time. Was a very sick little boy by the time his symptoms reached a head. We had a visit to the ER clinic and came home with a fancy smoke blowing machine (aka the Nebulizer) Which has helped him breathe much better but has also been a fight every four hours when he has to wear a mask and inhale steam for 20 mins. Anyone want to try to get a two year old to sit still and wear a mask for 20 mins? I feel like I already have a newborn since I am back to the no-sleep routinee. Jack sounds better but his breathing does get pretty raspy towards the end of his four hours.
We did have a few good notes to our week...our driveway is finally paved! It has been a long process. But it looks wonderful and hopefully less dirt to sweep up for me! Jack offically welcome the pavement by coloring it with chalk and riding his motorcycle to the end and back.
We also had the our good friends Kathy (who I work with) and Marlin bring us some black dirt from the farm. So that we could fill in the edges and new flower bed. Jack wasn't afraid to hop up in Marlin's big truck and unload the dirt. He grabbed his little shovel and was flinging it out the back of the truck like a real man. He did fling some dirt in our hair too...which he thought was funny. He really loves Marlin. He follows and copies everything he does. He also lays on the ground and cries when Marlin leaves. Nice to have such fun friends. Kathy and Marlin's daughter is a year older than I am. She is married and lives in London...so Kathy and I have kinda of adopted each other. I am so thankful for her.
Last night we (Jack and I) went to a barn dance wedding reception for Dr. Johnson's son O.J. They had a pile of toy tractors to play with so as you can imagine Jack didn't want to leave. In fact we stayed until almost 9:00 and he bawled the whole way home. That could have something to do with the fact that he couldn't bring the tractors home with him and he had to leave Marlin.
Jack also had a fun time showing off his new snake named "Snakes" that managed to wiggle into our cart at Target earlier in the day. "Snakes" played with Jack all afternoon, took a bath and slept with Jack. I hate snakes...but someone loves them.
Today we are having another busy day heading to a Graduation Party for Logan. He's a third (maybe second) cousin of Glenn's who lives in Pequot Lakes. Then I think a big nap is in order...thankgoodness it's a four day weekend. I need some extra rest. Hopefully I can get some.
