The Best Face

The Sleepy Face is by far the best face Jack has. Last night he went to bed at midnight...what a night owl, and he only woke up at 3:30 and 7:00. So that was pretty good! Hopefully we get more nights like that. We had a pretty fun friday night. We went out to dinner with our friends Jeremy, Kari and Nick. Afterwards we watched the Olympics and had some ice cream.

Jack was on his best behavior because he really wanted to hang out with the big kids. He brought his bottle along with him and for the third time practiced drinking out of it like he will do when he goes to daycare. So far he doesn't seem to be bothered by having to drink out of a bottle. Which is a relief to me because his daycare is closer to our home than to my work. It's about 15 miles away from the office so it would be almost impossible if I had to drive down to feed him on my lunch break. So I am very glad he's taking to trying the bottle thing out. Plus it gives Glenn an easy job (that's not changing diapers) and Jack isn't screaming when Glenn holds him. Usually, Glenn comes home right when Jack is hungry, so when he tries to hold him he starts to scream. Which makes dad feel kinda left out. So I think we will let him had some dad-time at least once everyday, after all five mintues of me-time is well deserved.

The Many Faces of Jack

Here's about as different as different comes. I still think that Jack is Glenn's clone, but sometimes when I look at the pictures I've taken he also looks like his own person. He certainly has his own personality. He breaks the baby mold. He doesn't want his pacifer when he's mad, he wants it when he's happy. He should like to be swaddled all up at night, but even an attempt to loosely wrap a blanket around him ends in him kicking and screaming until you undo it. Must be he is an independent boy!
Hopefully he's a boy that likes to fly on airplanes because a week from now that is what we will be doing. That should be an interesting event, Jack can be a very good boy when he wants to be and a VERY noisy boy when he wants to be. Hopefully he will be a VERY good boy tonight Glenn's empolyees are having a baby shower for Jack. He had better be on his best behavior.

Baby Jack must be growing the last two nights he has gone 3 to 4 hours before waking up. The only problem is he has to make up for the lost kicking and screaming, so he has been really crabby when he is up. We had a pretty low key weekend, trying just to catch up on some sleep and do just a few things. Now we are sitting around waiting for the fedex truck to come so mom can get her new cell phone, having no phone for almost a week now has been no fun!

My First Big Boy Bath

Today Baby Jack got some bad news, he has to get his poor heel poked again because the hospital messed up his newborn screening results. So tomorrow we might have an un-happy day.
He got to go visit his dad at the golf course today, after we saw Great Grabma Jennie and Great Grandpa Steve off. Grandpa Steve forgot his shoes, so we will have to bring thoses too him when we come back to visit on Aug 22.
Tonight Baby Jack took his first Big Boy Bath and he really enjoyed it! He has had a few sponge baths since coming home from the hospital and they had been screamfests. But the fun bath tub with his rubber ducky and flashy bath lights calmmed him right down. He didn't even make one peep. It could have been the nice warm water, too. So now he's already to go to bed nice and clean.

Attack of the Grabma Jennie

Baby Jack has had a ton of visitors in his two weeks and one day of life. After his Aunt Hannah left with his Uncle Dan on Monday morning, his Grabma the Great Jennie and Great Grandpa Steve arrived for a quick spoiling before they head off to spoil Abby and camp along the way. While they were here we went out to Cross Lake Campground to visit with Glenn's Parents and Glenn's Grandma Mary Kay even made it from Duluth to visit our home and meet her first Great Grandson Jack. We are also going to head up to Uncle Ron and Aunt Sarah's home tonight for a cookout before Grandma Jennie and Grandpa Steve head over to visit Jen and Steve.
Baby Jack and I bought our plane ticket to come back to visit Grandma Mary and Grandpa Scott! So we will be there the weekend of Aug. 23!

Dance or Die

Jack has decided he has the same taste in music as his dad. He also wants to be like his Uncle Nate, so he is working on his lip sync videos already. He hopes you enjoy his verison of Dance or Die- Family Force Five.

He went out for his third round of golf tonight. He did much better than last night because he got to ride in a cart and it was much cooler. He got to play with Dad, Uncle Dan and Aunt Hannah. She is probably the next Annika...watch out LPGA. Dan and Hannah are leaving tomorrow to go visit Steve, Jen and Abby. And we will be getting more visitors on Monday, Grandma Jennie and Grandpa Steve. Glenn's family is also coming to camp at Cross Lake. So next week will be pretty busy too. Good thing about maternity leave is you get to spend some extra time with the family.

Beach Baby

Yesterday Jack took his first trip to the beach. Although he did even get his toes wet he sleep in the shade while Aunt Hannah worked on her tan. Uncle Dan arrived this morning for a visit so maybe Jack will get to go for a ride in the new Subaru. But after going through two sets of pjs last night he might not be allowed.
